I'm a traveler. I always have been and always will be; it's something that's in my blood. My ancestors have always traveled, my family always took the quintessential summer vacations when I was a kid, and now I can't stop going as an adult on my own. I just love getting away and seeing new and interesting places, both near and far. The world is full of fascinating destinations and I want to see as many of them as I can before my short time on this spinning ball is done.
I don't consider myself to be a "continent counter," as someone once put it to me, but I do want to travel to as many different countries as possible and get that all-important passport stamp. It's a fun novelty in travel, one that's decreased a bit with the opening of the European continent and the European Union, and something that I love to collect. Thus far I've hit all seven continents, even Antarctica, most of the States and most of the counties in my home state of Colorado. It's a passion of mine to get to as many places as possible, and I'm proud of what I've experienced thus far.
Working as a journalist for over 15 years in local television news has kept me busy through the years, but thankfully made it possible to get to so many great places. It's an interesting career, albeit quite challenging at times, and one that I take great pride in. I'm very fortunate for what it has allowed me to do and I am thankful for every minute of my holiday indulgences.
It's a big world out there, no matter how small and connected it may seem at times, and sometimes it's difficult to decide where to go out of so many amazing places. The point of my site is to share the experiences I've enjoyed so others can learn, even cyber-travel, and enjoy a place that they may not otherwise be able to visit. There's so much to enjoy and just so little time, so hopefully my efforts help and inform others of what's out there.
I'm always happy to hear about great travel destination ideas, products and book recommentions, so feel free to email me. I can always be found on Facebook and Twitter as well. Contact me if you have any suggestions or questions, as I'm always happy to receive feedback and hear your ideas. And don't forget to check out my book, The Drive North: A Swing Down Memory Lane.
Thanks for reading and traveling with me!
